From Octo­ber 12th to 16th 2011 Kadist San Fran­cisco hosts a tem­por­ary store by Motto Books and Fil­lip

Kadist hosts a week-long tem­por­ary store by Motto Books, a Ber­lin and Zürich-based book­store and dis­trib­ut­or spe­cial­iz­ing in exper­i­ment­al, small run, and self-pub­lished artist books, magazines, and fan­zines. Motto star­ted in 2007 as a dis­tri­bu­tion com­pany for Switzer­land, spe­cial­iz­ing in magazines and fan­zines In 2008, Motto opened its first per­man­ent book­store, in Ber­lin. The store is a nat­ur­al pro­gres­sion from the trav­el­ing tem­por­ary book­shops that Motto has organ­ized since 2007, first in Switzer­land and then inter­na­tion­ally includ­ing loc­a­tions in Vil­ni­us, Ams­ter­dam, Rot­ter­dam, Ham­burg, Wies­baden, Frank­furt, Moscow, Chica­go, Seoul, Tokyo, Par­is, and Van­couver.”

Join Bay Area writers and cur­at­ors par­ti­cip­at­ing in a Uni­ver­sity Chal­lenge style dis­cus­sion around the them­at­ics presen­ted in Fil­lip 15. Par­ti­cipants will include Joseph Del Pesco, Chris Fitzpatrick, Christina Linden, Chris­ti­an Nagler, Post Broth­ers, and Peta Rake. Mod­er­ated by Kristina Lee Podesva.
