Store — BOOKS

Ed. Varie an independent publisher and gallery based in East Village, New York is going to open an “official“ book shop on March 21st 2012…

“Once home to one of the first anarchist bookstores in Manhattan, then followed by nearly a decade acting as gallery and studio to East Village artists, the storefront that Ed. Varie occupies is a seasoned alternative art venue.

After many years of neglect from apathetic landlords, Ed. Varie was lovingly restored entirely with recycled and reclaimed materials, and transformed into a casual and comfortable environment that, we hope, once you arrive, you relax and stay for a bit.

Ed. Varie is an independently owned and operated alternative gallery and art space in the East Village’s Alphabet City. Inspired by the fundamentals of open programming, Ed. Varie is dedicated to creating a space for artists. Ed. Varie fosters all forms of contemporary art, and offers a platform for established as well as emerging artists to explore new concepts and take unchartered risks in their practice.  Ed. Varie supports a wide range of artists nationally and internationally, as well maintains a permanent library of limited edition art books from independent and micro-niche publishers.”
