Event — Fruit – self-publishing exhibition

You are invited to Fruit a self-publishing exhibition at Artelibro Art Book Festival opening on September 20th 2012 in Bologna, Italy…

Self-publishing is still an undefined world, the strategies of which are often utilized by small publishing houses, galleries, laboratories and artistic communities which undertake the entire creative and productive process until the editorial object is produced: it is a creative, free and amusing expression of an art which makes use of the most varied printing techniques, from photocopies to letterpress and silkscreen printing with the intent of producing art and artist’s publications, catalogues and magazines which can be defined experimental from a styling and conceptual point of view and with a low budget.

In a specific section of the commercial exhibition of Artelibro at Palazzo Re Enzo, visitors can discover and buy a selection of such publications dealing with contemporary art only made known by unofficial circuits, off the editorial main stream.

Fruit. Focus on contemporary art presents an opportunity to get in touch with independent publishers whose ideas and creative processes represent a valuable form of contemporary artistic expression: multi-shaped paper publications made unique by their contents, graphics, printing techniques and materials.

Exhibitors coming from all over Europe are thus given the possibility of presenting their ‘fruits’ to the market and contribute to the ambitious project to build up the first library of artistic micro and self-published editions.”
