Fair — PA/PER VIEW

PA/PER VIEW is an inde­pend­ent pub­lish­ing fair in Lon­don, organ­ised in asso­ci­ation with Mer.Paper Kun­sthalle. Now in its third year, this fair will present 27 inter­na­tion­al art book pub­lish­ers and is announced for Janu­ary 21st to 23rd, 2011 at the Zabludow­icz Col­lec­tion.

The Zabludow­icz Col­lec­tion has an act­ive pub­lish­ing arm and dynam­ic pro­gramme of free pub­lic events, ran­ging from talks and per­form­ances by artists and aca­dem­ics to com­munity-based fest­ivals and youth and adult edu­ca­tion.

PA/PER VIEW Lon­don will take place dur­ing the 3rd year of London’s pre-emin­ent annu­al exhib­i­tion of recent gradu­ates from Gold­smiths and Roy­al Col­lege of Art titled Test­ing Ground, in which there will also be per­form­ance events and talks sur­round­ing the exhib­i­tion space. Dur­ing the course of the fair we will be organ­ising a wel­come party (on Fri­day 6 to 9 pm), and a pan­el dis­cus­sion on the week­end with very esteemed speak­ers to be con­firmed.”

Far­en­heit 39 is an exhib­i­tion and cata­logue about the con­tem­por­ary inde­pend­ent pub­lish­ing phe­nomen­on in italy. It will be launched on Decem­ber 18th, 2010 at Gal­ler­ia d’arte Nin­apì in Ravenna (Italy).

Conference — Contemporary Artists’ Books Conference

The Con­tem­por­ary Artists’ Books Con­fer­ence is a dynam­ic, two-day event focused on emer­ging prac­tices and debates with­in art-book cul­ture.

This year’s ses­sions address a wide array of sub­jects, includ­ing: exper­i­ment­al lib­rar­ies, the so-called zine renais­sance, fusion of art and design in typo­graphy, con­tem­por­ary cri­ti­cism, and new ped­ago­gic­al approaches to the ever-expand­ing field of artists’ books.
